EMBRACE ALL THAT IS YOU

Miss Georgia Teen USA… a month and a half ago – November 2019! I shared this on my Instagram story right after I got backstage from not being called apart of the Top 15. This quote🙌🏼 I knew God was showing up with this one. Yes, the words got me but it was the circumstance I was in when I stumbled upon the words. “God’s timing might be sooner than you think. Be prepared.” Y’all! I wasn’t prepared. At all. Not for the circumstances nor the quote. But since I left McDonough, I have prepared myself for situations like the one I experienced in November. I’ve prepared myself to be okay with winging what life throws and not following the plan I have for myself.  If you don’t know, I’m the girl that basically has her life planned out – when/where she’ll graduate college, where she’ll live and what job she will have… or at least I think I do. Just like my experience at GA Teen USA, I thought my plan was THE plan, but God said differently. We have to be prepared for Him to surprise us in life! Just when things get good, and you find yourself in a peaceful season he could show up and change up your plan! What happens when he opens a door that leads toward a completely different journey? Are you going to be ready for it? Will you react as I did? Tears, confusion & self-doubt?  We have to realize that our perfectly planned journey is going to be redirected and with redirection comes failure, challenges, and obstacles. So I looked on the bright side and said, “This is what makes my story more real. It makes my story more ME.” When we don’t know which road to take, we pray and trust in Him. God’s plan is greater than any plan that we have for ourselves. So if He does a switch upon you, know that it was meant to be! Trust the weird, ugly, and uncertainty. Trust times that are embarrassing. Trust Him when you feel like you’re alone and you want to give up. Do not give up, embrace it. Embrace all that is Y O U.
