Miss High School America, Stephanie Skinner

Hi everyone! My name is Stephanie Skinner. I am 17 years old and going into my senior year of high school in Upstate New York. I am enrolled in my school’s top AP and honors courses on the track to graduate with the completion of 12 AP courses and high honors. I am a part of my National Honor Society, Leadership Core, Mathletics Team, French Club, Key Club, Pal to Pal club, and other school involvements. Outside of school, I will either be in the dance studio or on the field hockey turf. I have been dancing since the age of three. At the age of six, I began competing at regional, state, and National competitions and have won numerous awards in both solo and group entries. However, one of my favorite things to do is serve my community. I volunteer with numerous organizations such as Gigi’s Playhouse, Special Olympics, Samaritan’s Purse, etc. I find the most joy in helping others find their confidence through my own organization, Hands of Hope. I created Hands of Hope in 2019 to instill confidence in today’s youth while spreading bullying prevention awareness. Through workshops, presentations, visual demonstrations, resources, social media initiatives, and Hand Pledge crafts, I strive to empower others to show everyone including themselves unconditional respect and love.

Over the years, I have been blessed with opportunities to serve as a titleholder for amazing pageant systems. My first state title was National American Miss Miss New York Jr Teen in 2018 where I worked to promote my special needs inclusion wristband fundraiser and campaign throughout my year raising over $500 for Upstate Cerebral Palsy. In 2019, I discovered the Miss High School America Organization and my life changed in so many ways for the better. I served promoting Hands of Hope and B.R.A.V.E as Miss New York High School America 2020. I placed 8th at the 2020 Miss High School America National Pageant and knew I had to go back. Two weeks after Nationals 2020, I drove nine hours to compete for the title of Miss District of Columbia High School America 2021 and I won! I used my title to further promote inclusivity, self love, and bullying prevention in 25 different states. All my hard work paid off when I was crowned Miss High School America 2021! I am so honored and blessed to have this opportunity to continue to voice my passions and messages of positivity on a National level!

I love following #iLikeMe because it is exactly what our world needs more of! I admire the impact #iLikeMe is making because I know there are thousands of girls and boys who need a message like this. Also who doesn’t love positive quotes and self love reminders?? I know I do! Thank you #iLikeMe and the amazing Rylee Wright for featuring me on the #iLikeMe blog! 🙂

Thank you so much Stephanie for sharing more about yourself and your goals as our Miss High School America. You are one of the most kind-hearted humans I have ever met and you exude happiness always. It was such a pleasure to get to know you in Little Rock. Wishing you all the best gorgeous!
